Didnt finish off where we were yesterday :
Ben was told he has a special wheelchair on order that lies at 70 degrees - this is because he will be unable to sit at 90 degrees as the rods holding his pelvis together restrict movement and push on him abdomen - this is a definate no no because of the internal injuries he has sustained.
Bens list of injuries is never ending, we were shocked to find out today that he also has 4 broken ribs and a partially punctured lung. (poor baby) :(( We are still waiting for an MRI scan to ascertain whats up with him right leg and why he cant move his toes. He is also waiting for a pelvic scan to make sure the fixator is in the right place.
Later in the day Ben was moved from intensive care into high dependency - which was really scary for Ben but a step in the right direction - the move was a little stressful but he settled ok - cant beleive the progress you are making my superman!
Weds - Ben was moved again - this time to The Surgical Trauma Unit - he is still on cocktail of medication for pain so is sleeping a lot. His temperature was sky high in the early sky high so his blood and urine are being tested for infection to either his rod sights which are leaking a lot or a particually nasty wound he has.
Ben is managing to eat small portions and is drinking plenty of fluids. Another drip has been removed and his swelling is decreasing all the time. Talking about food it seems that my spare ribs are better than yours Rachel hahahah but Aunty Kathy is a better cook than the pair of us! Bloody cheeky git Staaby! /best be careful what you say as you could end up with no bloody grub!!!
Well done Ben you are amazing, such a fighter and we love you so much - keep it up hon
Thanks again to aunty Tina for the meals on wheels - you keeping us going "toot toot"
Mumma, Dad and Sambo
