We were kind of under the impression that we might still be able to bring Ben home today if we can arrange for his iv antibiotics to be administered. I have spoken to the district nurses and they are happy to do this for Ben. However changing the canula may be a problem - (not a problem I can get this sorted :)
We discussed this with Fran - one of Bens trauma surgeons and thats a definate no no no no no no no no :( and not an option She said if there are complications he needs to be here so they can look after him. Ok so thats that then :(
Ben has been booked into Barts on Tuesday week for has his catheters to be changed. Until then his infection needs to be managed.
Lovely visit from Ruth Hill today - you said some good things - thank you - Oops we forgot to take a piccy :(
Lovely one to one with aunty Tina (thats a first I think!)
Lovely visit with Sam and Sam before their trip to Madrid
Lovely visit with Rachel before her holiday and more cup cakes :)
Ben very sleepy after the past two very stressful days
Stab night came early!!!!!!!!! This morning there were 3 fully armed officers guarding a critically ill patient on our ward. They were protecting him as they were expecting the killer to come back and finish the job! This hospital is unbeleivable - nothing like Holby lol
There are four guys in our room - our Ben, lovely Peter who has suffered a really horrific accident and lost both his legs, then a young guy who has been attacked with a machete half his arm missing and a split open stomach - nice! lastly another young lad who have been stabbed 14 times. ummmmmmmmmm gang warfare!
Good night darling boy, sleep tight
Mumma, Dad and Sambo
xx
