Thanks to everyone for your messages, texts and phone calls. We all really appreciate it and are making sure that Ben gets all the love and hugs he is being sent. We are finding it very dificult to keep on top of replies on an individual basis so are therefore going to give regular updates on this blog.
Yesterday was really tough for Ben and he was up and down all day. This was to be expected after spending eight hours in theatre on Monday. He suffered some internal lacerations in the accident which caused complications. These have been temporarily dealt with. Ben is going back into theatre this afternoon - we are praying that they find him internally infection free which will allow them to deal with one particular nasty wound. This in turn will allow the surgeons to prepare him internally for reversal surgery in the future. Make sure all your energy today is positive!
With regards to him shattered pelvis etc - we have this morning found out that the surgeons are happy with the way things went in theatre and that the bones are infection free. This enabled them to put him back together neat and tidy for now. He is externally screwed and pinned for the next eight weeks.
He will be going back into Intensive Care after surgery today. We will get back to everyone as soon as we have any news.
