Wednesday 21st September

Dont know where the time has gone it so hard to keep up with everything :((

Ben doing really well he still has up and down days but is really progressing and trying to stay positive.  We have made a lot of changes at home and it makes things much more norlam for all of us.

The nurses are still coming in for his abdominal wound and catheter sites and we also have the physio comig home - she is great and setting challenges for Ben

Ben still get tired but I think that is understandable and as long as he works hard I dont mind him kipping - cos his body is still mending :)  plus he loves a kip lol!

Abdominal wound is still healng - bloody thing seems to be taking forever, its looking good at the minute so just need to keep it infection free PLEASE!

Theres been plenty of stuff going on to keep Ben occupied so thats good  :))

He will be going back into Barts soon for a week or so under the care of the urologists - so fingers crossed for another huge step!!!  -   Good luck baby xx

Still need help with works out please ?????????

Thanks Matt and Nick this week xx

Thanks to everyone for their support and visits - you definately know who your friends are xx

Saturday 3rd September

Photo updates coming soon  ;))

Saturday 3rd September

So once transferrd back to trauma The Royal London he had more xrays and scans. Cut a long story short it was diagnosed that Bens urethal catheter had actually been wrongly fitted in theatre and therefore urine had been leaking into him abdominal cavity for best part of a week - no wonder the pain, infection and wound blisters!
Ben's man parts man were man handled (biggggg deep breath!) then rescanned the following day. All sorted in that department sorted for now.  Another 4 weeks till next out patient appointment and treatment plan.

I made an appointment to go see the top man Mr Junaid (who is Bens urologist) privately at The London Independent. What a lovely man, he is on a two week holiday from the NHS but upon his return he will look into the events of Bens stay in Barts and the circumstances surrounding it. Once he has a clearer picture he will call me.  I have asked to transfer Ben onto his private list for all future urological treatments as we no longer have confidence and its such an important and delicate area still to recover.  He said that as Ben's case is complicated and that he is under the trauma umberella of surgical speciality he will only transfer if its in Bens best interest.  However he assured us that in future if Ben remains under the NHS urologically he will see to him personally. So thats good then :))

Ben came home on Thursday night and he is so much better mentally.

Well done Ben for all you have had to put up with in the past couple of weeks. You continue to be an inspiration and I m soooooooo proud of you and everything you are achieving xx

Sam honey I am sooooooooooooo sorry I didnt notice how difficult you were finding things :((     Love you the world baby and promise to be more alert lol xx

Friday 2nd September

Well what an absolute shitweek :((   poor Ben has been put through it!

Last Bank Holiday weekend Ben was still having loads of abdominal pain which started after his catheter change the previous week.  We had noticed that his abdominal wounds were filled with fluid. When we asked if the fluid could be urine leaking in we were told no.  Ben had scans,  x rays and all sorts of concoctions - urology were insistent that his pain was due to wind or poo???????  When it was getting to much I called one of the trauma team doctors based at The Royal London.  She was an absolute star and got us transferred to The London with a matter of hours :))     (what a wonderful Fran - thankyou so much)
